A Boole function with maximum 6 variables and 7+1 minterms can be realized and studied. The +1 minterm allows to switch the output to a high impedance state (tristate), in consequence, it is suitable for use as a bus driver, and for connection of several such devices. This application enables the institutions to spare the costs of one time programmable circuits, while the requirements of education will entirely be fulfilled.
With the help of a manufacturer-supplied computer program, students can realize combinational circuits that are defined as Boole functions, or as Karnaugh maps. Furthermore, they can practice troubleshooting, and numerous digital measurement technologies.
This application helps the presentation of the block level on the
combinational circuit level.
